"Jo's kitchen did not dissapoint the food was well cooked and well presented the evening menu was good with plenty home cooked food on offer with a specials board. Our party had the fish and chips which looked a bit on the small side but was nicely presented - mince tatties and dumplings - haggis trio and venison sausages the kids had the smiley faced pizza's which they loved. We had the giant meringues and icecream for dessert which were huge - It was very busy in the bistro part and given the size of our party we were put in the conservatory which was good as the kids could move around freely without disturbing anyone - but was quite cold. The staff were good and made us feel very welcome. Overall a very relaxed and enjoyable meal. " "Fabulous Place!" "My partner - daughter & I have eaten here several times now and have never been disappointed! I have to say that between us we have tried almost all the dishes available and enjoyed every one of them. The chicken dinner & macaroni cheese are a favourite of mine. Anyway - we always get a very friendly service. We recently took my Mum & Dad for their first visit. My Dad can be very fussy about eating out but he loved it! Loved the atmosphere and the guiness! Not to mention the food! His only complaint was that the portions were too big! The Lodge is always the best way to end your day if you are ever passing that way!!
